Cantopop icon Anthony Wong has always fought against complacency, from his social activism within and without the music world to his adventurous, ambitious, yet still accessible synth-pop projects. From 1985 to 1990, he was one half of the popular duo Tat Ming Pair with guitarist Tats Lau, making New Wave tunes with literate, politically engaged lyrics. After the group's breakup, Wong began a solo career based on rock, ballad, and cabaret influences.
