If there's any such thing as a musical beatdown, Five Finger Death Punch have mastered it. Deeply inspired by Pantera's bulldozing brand of groove metal, the Las Vegas brooders split their time between violently chugging anthems perfect for MMA training and thick, heaving power ballads stained by the ravages of heartbreak. A big turning point in their sound arrived with 2013's two-volume The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell, on which the band began to incorporate lightning-quick fretwork and galloping rhythms rooted in old-school metal.
