About Twiztid
Artist Biography
Twiztid are a major force within horrorcore, a musical movement that pairs macabre lyrics and imagery with sonic inspiration from both hip-hop and hard rock. The Detroit duo—Jamie “Madrox” Spaniolo and Paul “Monoxide” Methric—started collaborating in the early ’90s while in the group House Of Krazees. The pair later split off on their own and formed Twiztid, finding mentors in fellow Detroit act Insane Clown Posse: the infamous duo brought Twiztid on tour and released the group’s 1997 debut album, Mostasteless, via their own label, Psychopathic Records—a prelude to a headlining stint at the 2000 Gathering of the Juggalos. Since that time, Twiztid have enjoyed a long and fruitful career. The duo have prolifically released albums that lean toward hip-hop (2010’s W.I.C.K.E.D.) or melodic hard rock (2021’s Unlikely Prescription) and have thrived on diverse collaborations with rapper Blaze Ya Dead Homie and, on the 2021 modern-rock hit “Envy”, the metal-leaning ICE NINE KILLS.
