About Trey Ivey
Artist Biography
Hailing from Cleveland, Georgia, Trey Ivey is a pianist specializing in Southern gospel. He began formal study of his instrument at age five and developed an interest in multiple styles, including classical, but was particularly drawn to playing Southern gospel. As a teen and young adult, he performed with groups including the Old Paths, the Cathedrals, and Mike LeFevre Quartet before relocating to Nashville in 2011 to replace Tim Parton as pianist for Legacy Five, at just 21 years of age. He appeared on the group's several albums over the next three years before adding a solo debut to his output. Released on Stowtown Records in 2015, Timeless offered instrumental versions of classic hymns and gospel songs, including "I've Got That Old Time Religion in My Heart." ~ Marcy Donelson
