About Tifani Sage
Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was in the backseat of my babysitter’s car when I first heard Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)”. The piano keys and the horns made me feel epic. I felt like Lauryn Hill was my big sister speaking directly to me, schooling me on self respect.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Buju Banton, Mr. Mention Frank Ocean, Blonde Sade, Soldier of Love Buju Banton is my Jamaican roots. Frank Ocean is my songwriting hero. Sade is my calm.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Big Woman Ting (Bonus Track) [feat. Amun Bes]” My record "Big Woman Ting" always gives me that confidence boost I need whenever I want to feel extra saucy, large and in charge. The Jamaican bouncey riddim really does it for me. Shoutout to Amun Bes for coming through with the feature!
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Shooting the music video for Superpowers on top of a cliff in Malibu was pretty breathtaking. I was nervous but also very excited. I had no choice but to take it all in and deliver. It set the standard pretty high for being my first ever music video!
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Working alongside some of my musical influences: Pharrell, Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys to name a few and work on feature film soundtracks are pretty high on my list.
