About The Raspberries
Artist Biography
Though they were the quintessential American power pop band of the 1970s, the Raspberries seemed cut from a more innocent cloth than that of the knowing skinny-tie bands whom they undoubtedly influenced. Taking their musical and fashion cues from the pre-hippie Beatles, the Raspberries donned matching suits, had puffy rockstar hair, and slayed audiences with their harmonies and killer three-minute songs. In their five years together, they had seven singles in the Top 100--including the heavenly hit "Go All the Way." Singer Eric Carmen went on to a successful solo career following the band's break-up in '75, and joined his original band members for a reunion tour and recording sessions in 2004.
