∙ In 2002, Slash joined the supergroup Velvet Revolver, whose single “Slither” won the 2005 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance.
∙ Rolling Stone included him among their 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time, and TIME ranked him No. 2 on their list of the 10 Greatest Electric-Guitar Players—behind Jimi Hendrix.
