About Robert Davies
Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I wanted to learn that guitar at age 9, no one would teach me as I was considered "too young" and I "wouldn't learn/pay attention". Along came the guitarist from Bad Lieutenant/Rambo & Leroy, Jake Evans who was happy to teach me! The rest is history.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bring Me The Horizon, That's the Spirit Northlane, Alien Periphery, Periphery 'That's the Spirit' has no weak songs - every song is emotive and strong. 'Periphery' is where it all started - its sound alone inspired me to pursue production. 'Alien' is a masterclass in inspiration mashup - the sound design is impeccable.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Fragments” This was the first completely 'electronic' song which I wrote and released. Prior to this, I'd never stepped outside of my comfort zone of writing metal music with live guitars and programmed drums. 'Fragments' is the beginning of the journey.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Publishing the album 'Rituals: Book of Skog'. The music on this official soundtrack used synthesised instruments as well as foley to create an atmospheric soundtrack of original music. Seeing the release on streaming services was a dream come true.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? To consistently release music. The music I write and release is for my own pleasure - if others also enjoy it then that's a blessing. However, life can get in the way and it's all to easy for hobbies/passions to fall by the way-side.
