About Perry Cain
Artist Biography
Perry Cain was somewhat better known in his native Texas under his broadcast name, "Daddy Deep Throat." An announcer with a husky voice, he was a fixture on Houston-based radio station KCOH (once known as "Texas' First All Negro [sic]Station") during the early 1950's. He also cut a handful of records under his own name, including the "My Heart Belongs To You" b/w "Big Time Grandma", the 1948 debut releases of the Houston-based Eddie's Records. His career as a musician didn't last long, his vocal talents being more suited to announcing than recording, but he left his mark nonetheless. ~ Bruce Eder
