About Marc Hansen
Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I can remember New York City had a great oldies station while I was growing up. We always had that on. Especially car rides. And we only had a few cassettes. Roy Orbison's greatest hits and Ben E King and the Drifters. And I could sing every song.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bob Dylan, Highway 61 Revisited The Rolling Stones, Exile On Main Street (2010 Remaster) Tom Petty, Wildflowers I feel Exile and Highway 61 have some similarities. The live feel, making use of many sounds, and rolling with the imperfections. Wildflowers is the opposite. So precise. I love the different approaches to recording and the songs are all incredible.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Plastic Jesus” I didn't write Plastic Jesus. It's from my favorite movie, Cool Hand Luke. I always wished someone had a good version out there, so I decided to do it myself. I love to build energy as a song progresses and that came natural in this performance.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Tours are always fun. Travelling hard, Playing everyday, getting tight. I love that. Life just blows by while you're sharpening your skills and making memories. Seeing friends along the way. That's a blast.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yes, getting my picture on the cover of a Rolling Stone!
