About Jim Wyly
Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was in High School and heard "I want to hold your hand" by The Beatles. That's when I went out and bought a guitar and learned to play.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bob Dylan, Highway 61 Revisited Crosby, Stills & Nash, Crosby, Stills & Nash Eagles, Eagles The first two, Crosby, Stills and Nash and Eagles, were for the same basic reason. I love rich harmonies and they were both great at that. With the Bob Dylan album I loved the full sound as opposed to the stripped down folk that he started with..
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Mr Snowman” This is the most requested song I have. Although it was too long for most radio stations these days. But I was never willing to shorten it. So I still sing at every gig I have. Not what you might think from the title. Very much metaphorical.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My most moving moment in my career was when I played for an organization that taught veterans with amputations how to surf. Sounds a little weird I suppose, but was very moving.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Actually, I don't do bucket lists. I do what I do and when an opportunity comes along, I decide if I want to do it and go from there. Number one is making a living writing songs. Simple as that.
