About Blake Allen
Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I started playing piano at the age of 3, so every single memory is attached to music of some kind. Once, in elementary school, and my teacher played Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" and we all ran around in circles as the music got faster.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bernard Herrmann, Vertigo (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass, Whipped Cream & Other Delights Richard M. Sherman, Robert B. Sherman, The Sherman Brothers, The Sherman Brothers Songbook The Sherman Brothers are some of my biggest influences! I absolutely adore their ability to craft simple, yet catchy melodies. Bernard Herman's "VERTIGO" is one of the best soundtracks ever written. Who doesn't love some green peppers?
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Wasteland” "the wasteland" is the first official song I ever wrote. It was the gestation of "shards", and I wrote the rest of the piece branching out. Writing shards helped heal my high-demand religion trauma and overcoming the effects of a friend's suicide.
