Proof that Christian music needn't be conservative in either form or content, the second album by the project led by San Diego’s Eric Owyoung fuses thoughtful expressions of faith with expansive and exploratory rock. For all the power of the fervent “Come Alive” and “Chariots”, Young Man Follow is even more affecting when Owyoung dials down the intensity for the hushed “You” and “As It Was”, a spectral ballad that evokes Radiohead at their most delicate yet dramatic.
