Following the live collaborations set Puerta Abierta, which found El Fantasma teaming with the likes of Calibre 50 and Los Dos Carnales, the regional Mexican star returns once more to one of his most beloved series. For the third volume of Pa’ los Recuerdos, he pays tribute to the artists and, most importantly, the songwriters who preceded him in the genre on both sides of the border. With a full band in tow, he offers spirited renditions of favourites such as “Al Cortar una Gardenia” and “Las Tres Vueltas”. On his standout cover of Los Barón de Apodaca’s “Por Esa Calle Vive”, his booming voice cuts through the lively instrumentation to make every word count.
