This prolific Atlanta singer/rapper kicks off his umpteenth mixtape with "Same Energy", a dark and booming trap-soul cut that has him gruffly crooning about his woes and bros. Although that deliciously paranoiac vision appears elsewhere (e.g. Birdman-featuring cocaine chronicle "Plug Dreams"), Sy Ari flexes other vibes too. On the spaced-out "Agree to Disagree", he's the lovelorn R&B lothario, while over spare keys and hi-hats on "Humble Beginnings", he plays the nostalgic MC who’s been in the game long enough to share some lessons.
