Danger lurks around every corner on the second album by Mauricio Rebolledo. The drones that guide the Mexican producer's songs are dark and unyielding, buoying deadpan vocals and eerie bursts of sound. Stripped back and freaky, his chomping fanfares (“Discótico Sinético”), canned beats (“Fears Come True”) and growling synths (“A Numb Gas to the Future”) constitute a strangely unnerving pleasure. There's no attempt to ingratiate, but Mondo Alterado remains darkly addictive.
